Today, Here Television — the only TV network solely dedicated to LGBT programming — marked its 10th year by unveiling its newYouTube channel allowing TV, computer, and mobile device owners around the world to view hundreds of original programs anytime, anywhere for a monthly or annual fee.
Over the past decade, Here TV has exposed hundreds of thousands of viewers to stories of queers fighting against AIDS, HIV, prejudice while also celebrating our love, creativity and sense of humor in programs such as the Emmy Award-nominated documentary 30 Years from Here, the Broadway Cares documentary Heart of Broadway, the investigative feature Here Focus: AIDS/HIV, and Jim Morrison’s political talk show For & Against.
All of these shows are now available through Here TV’s paid YouTube channel with more programs being added every month. If you’re unfamiliar with Here TV’s other original programs, you can see clips and descriptions from some of their most popular shows on Advocate.com.
The YouTube platform will allow the network to reach over a billion viewers in the U.S. Canada, the Great Britain, Spain, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Russia, and Brazil.
Josh Rosenzweig, senior vice president of original programming and development for Here TV said, "As we continue to create original shows, series, and movies, this new channel will allow us to have a fresh and extensive global perspective in both the development of new content and attracting an entirely new audience."
