In 2010 Mondo Guerra shocked Project Runway judges when he publically revealed a secret he’d kept for 10 years: he was HIV positive. While he didn’t win that season, despite strong support from judge Heidi Klum, Guerra went on to win Project Runway All-Stars and worked as mentor on its spin-off, Under the Gunn.

Since then he’s become an advocate for HIV, working as a national spokesperson for Dine Out for Life, and designing T-shirts to raise money for amFAR.
