"Don't be normal," this teen says. "Normal is boring. Be extraordinary!"
Ashley Rose Murphy isn't normal. The teenager, who was born with HIV and has been out about her status since she was 7, embraces her difference and encourages others to do the same in her inspirational Ted Talk (watch it below).
By the time Murphy was 6 months old, her condition had progressed to AIDS, with accompanying illnesses like Pneumocystis pneumonia. She wasn't expected to survive. Now 18, Murphy isn't just surviving, she's thriving; and helping others thrive as well.
