The Prevention Access Campaign is hoping to make "U=U" a household name.
A new social marketing campaign launched by the Prevention Access Campaign called +series is helping to spread the message that Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U).
The principle has been advocated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as other health organizations to note that those who are HIV-positive and undetectable cannot transmit the virus to negative partners.
PAC hopes their series will help organizations and health departments share the U=U message. The adorable videos themselves are in first-person narratives told beautifully through intricate illustrations. Subtitles are also available in Chinese, French, Filipino, and Spanish for all four videos.
If you go to the organization's website, you can even customize posters yourself so that you can share on your personal social media account or office.
“The +series educates about U=U through evocative images and stories that touch on issues of stigma, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, depression, love and compassion,” PAC executive director, Bruce Richman, said in a statement. “It’s a conversation starter that goes beyond viral suppression. We are grateful to Dee Connor, Katie Willingham, Kaleb Anderson and Fernando De Hoyos for sharing their stories and to ViiV Healthcare for their support on this important campaign.”
