Walgreens is offering free HIV testing in locations across the country.
This June, the pharmacy chain has partnered with Greater Than AIDS and local health departments to provide testing in more than 200 stores.
But this is only one health initiative among many. Walgreens works with many local HIV groups to offer testing and education about the virus throughout the year. Many employees are also educators in their communities, working to reduce stigma and raise awareness of STI risk and prevention.
In addition, Walgreens has equipped over 700 HIV-specialized pharmacies across the country and Puerto Rico with specially-trained pharmacists and personalized counseling, which can provide patients with in-store assistance.
