Taking the Fear Out of Talking to Your Doctor After an HIV Diagnosis
For those newly-diagnosed with HIV, the first discussion with a health professional can be daunting. Our new video series, "The Talk," offers help on taking control of the conversation.
For Plus's new video series, "The Talk," we demystify the early conversations with doctors or nurses that follow an HIV diagnosis. People talking to health professionals in this situation are often frightened, anxious, and uncertain of what they can or should ask their medical professional about their status and treatment regimen. We connected with several people living with HIV who have been through "the talk" and asked them how newly-diagnosed folks can walk into those conversations feeling confident and even empowered.
